Essential Elements for Strings – Piano Accompaniment Book 1

Essential Elements for Strings – Piano Accompaniment Book 1 provides piano accompaniments for the exercises found throughout the corresponding Essential Elements Book 1 student methods. It gives orchestra teachers, private instructors, and accompanists a practical way to add harmonic support to lessons, rehearsals, and performances.

The updated Essential Elements for Strings method combines familiar music with exercises designed specifically for beginning string players. Students work through material at a carefully paced progression while developing technique, reading skills, rhythm, and overall musicianship. This piano accompaniment book follows that material, allowing the teacher or pianist to accompany students as they work through the method.

With accompaniments for each exercise in the student books, it's particularly useful in beginning orchestra classrooms where violin, viola, cello, and double bass students are learning together. Piano accompaniment can also give young players a clearer sense of harmony and ensemble playing than practicing their individual part alone.

Who Is This Book For?

This is the piano accompaniment book, not an individual violin, viola, cello, or bass student method. It's intended primarily for orchestra teachers, private instructors, and pianists working with students using Essential Elements for Strings Book 1. If you're accompanying beginning string students during lessons, rehearsals, or classroom instruction, this is the matching piano book for the updated Book 1 method.
